Heidi and I have been photographing weddings so long that it's not that often we get venues that are new to us. But, last Saturday was our first time photographing a wedding at Canal 337 and we absolutely fell in love. Besides the gorgeous view of the canal, everything and I mean everything is styled flawlessly. There's the elegance of the chandeliers and drama of the lighting that perfectly contrasts with the brick and steel architecture. The setting itself was enough to make my day but it was Laura and Lane that really sealed the deal. They are both teachers which automatically made me adore them but besides that their fun personalities and generous spirits made photographing them an absolute joy. Their personal vows revealed their deep love for one another and also their ability to laugh at themselves and each other which I've found is one of the secrets of a long lasting marriage. Especially, the laughing at yourself part, laughing at each other is pretty easy. ;) They were also so sweet when I bugged them about grabbing extra shots throughout the day when I knew they just wanted to kick their feet up and enjoy a drink. I let them do that eventually of course, but was so grateful for their patience and willingness to run out for that "one last shot." After dinner they got down to business and danced their faces off. I was equally impressed and delighted by Lane's flawless rendition of Ice, Ice Baby & Laura's near perfect moves to N Sync's, Bye, Bye Bye. These are one of the couples I secretly hope like me enough to want to hang out with me in the future, even if it's not in front of my camera. We had such a ball photographing your wedding, guys. Seriously, thank you for the honor of documenting your beautiful day and enjoy the preview! It's one for the books!
