Lisa & Alan's big day brought the rain, the sunshine and alllllll of the feels. These two were tailor made for one another and being present for their wedding was such an honor for me. I first met Lisa in high school when her sister Kate and I got into all kinds of trouble running wild on the streets of Granger. That's actually not true for two reasons, one Kate never really got in trouble, and two, the gangs in Granger are pretty tame so the most we ever did was loiter at gas stations. Our street cred was basically nonexistent. ;) But, back to the happy couple! Lisa & Alan met at Purdue and withstood some long distance stretches until Alan FINALLY came to his senses and put a ring on it. Shew! Thank goodness, because Lisa is quite a catch, I am telling you. She's a well respected veterinarian and has a smile that absolutely lights up a room. And, even during the rain and humidity on Saturday I don't think she ever stopped smiling. We made a few slight adjustments to our schedule and managed to get everything in before the heavens unleashed and flooded Purdue's campus *just* a the ceremony was set to begin. All of the guests were amazing sports and trudged up to Slayter Hill with umbrellas in tow and got settled in for the day's big event. Everything was beautiful from the mums and pumpkins to the gorgeous flower arch Lisa's cousin threw together THE DAY OF, people. Amazing. We narrowly missed disaster when the Purdue basketball team tried to mud sled down Slayter Hill but finally nixed the idea after a heroic usher her gave them the evil eye. And, then just as the ceremony came to an end the sun came out, the clouds parted and the most beautiful sunlight lit up the amphitheater. It was breathtaking. And, if that weren't enough a surprise appearance by the Boilermaker Special was the cherry on top of the most perfect afternoon. Lisa & Alan, what an incredible day we had celebrating the two of you. Congratulations again and enjoy the preview!
