Helpful Ideas for Weddings During the Covid-19 Pandemic
March 16, 2020
So you've carefully & painstakingly planned and crafted the perfect wedding only to experience the largest lock down in US history before your big day. What do you do now? Well, with a little help from my friends, I've got a few ideas that will hopefully put your mind at ease. Last night, several of the top wedding photographers in the Midwest put our heads together to come up with some fantastic alternatives, should your wedding become affected by the new CDC guidelines. No matter what happens, we PROMISE your wedding will still be gorgeous and meaningful with images that reflect your love for one another. And, at the end of the day isn't that what it's all about anyway?
Reduce your guest list
Though it may be painful, reducing the guest list to under 50 people can greatly lower the risk of spreading the virus while still allowing you to go on with your wedding. Also, I LOVE a good intimate wedding and something like this can be incredibly special and memorable since only your nearest and dearest will be in attendance.
Postpone for later in 2020
I know this may not be feasible for some but there's a really good chance you can still find a date later in the year that works for all of your vendors, especially if it's on a Friday or Sunday. Things will most likely have calmed down a bit and you can still have the same wedding with a full guest list but just a little later than planned.
This one excites me the most! I love elopements and contrary to popular belief there are some truly breathtaking spots right here in Indiana that would work perfectly for an elopement.Your date would remain the same, we would just hold your wedding with only a handful of guests, or even just the two of you in a more intimate location. If desired, you could also livestream your ceremony for select people to view in real time. Additionally, we could split yourpackage up to use half of your coverage on your elopement, and half on a big reception with all of your friends and family later on in the year.
Please know that I will not be charging any rescheduling fees for weddings affected by Covid-19 and will do everything I can to shuffle my schedule around to accommodate you. I am also taking extra precautions to stay healthy and safe so I can give you my best on your wedding day. I know this is scary and uncharted waters, but we'll get through it together! Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have, I am always available to offer support or a listening ear.
